Despite the sluggish economy being experienced worldwide, one local company continues to make strides and improve their services not only to the community of Grand Bahama, but throughout the islands.

Prime Minister Hubert Ingraham was in Grand Bahama Saturday to help Waugh Construction celebrate its 45th anniversary and officially open the company’s new corporate office.

Prime Minister Ingraham noted that it was a privilege to help Waugh Construction celebrate 45 years of doing business in The Bahamas.

“I first met Mr. Sonny Waugh when he built what he now regards as his signature airport at Treasure Cay. That’s 29 years ago Mr. Minister of Public Works and Transport. It has not been resurfaced since,” he joked. “Clearly it’s good constructions and clearly it needs to be resurfaced.”
